Cubs Win Over Itasca To Claim Fourth Straight District Victory
Clifton Cubs defeated Itasca 6 to 0 at Cubs Stadium on Friday night October 21 to extend their district streak to four. Jim Willenberg scored the lone touchdown on an 18 yard end sweep after a interception by Ernest Erickson. Clifton dominated with 14 first downs to Itasca’s four and 204 rushing yards to 79 for Itasca, while holding them to four first downs in the first half and only three late in the fourth. The Cubs defense yielded 35 yards first half and 44 second half on the ground, with Willenberg earning a place on the Central Texas back field of the week.

Bosque County 4H members exhibited six beef calves at the State Fair of Texas earning $1,599.28 in total prizes and sale. Derril Wenzel Clifton led with two blue ribbons and top steer and breeding heifer wins. Clifton FFA broiler teams brought home 41 blue ribbons 25 red and 9 white for $130.75 in prize money from 370 competing broilers.
