Clifton residents who missed last Sunday’s exhibit can view antique costumes fine textiles lace embroidery jewelry and related items at the Bosque Memorial Museum from 2 to 5 PM next Sunday November 6. Presbyterian Group Hosts Halloween Party in Clifton
Members of the Senior High Fellowship of First Presbyterian Church Clifton held a Halloween Party from 7 30 to 10 00 p m on Monday October 31 at the Old Manse behind the church. They hosted guests from Zion United Church of Christ at Womack with games including a Haunted House apple bobbing spook relay and balloon relay. Refreshments followed and the event ended to avoid curfews and movie time. About 60 people attended with six adult-type youths, planned mainly by Zeda Anne Jameson Sherrie Blewett Chuck Blewett Paul Mangum Jerry Allen and Wally Ludtke.

Texas Highway Commission funds 1961 62 bridge upgrades in Bosque County
The Texas Highway Commission announced a 1961 1962 consolidated highway program to widen and improve three Highway 6 bridges between Clifton and Meridian in Bosque County. In charge will be Bosque County resident engineer Ralph with work to start after final planning. Funds come from Federal Aid and State matching dollars.

Michael Pierson Loses Thumb in Home Accident
Michael Pierson four year old son of Mr and Mrs Joe Pierson lost his right thumb in a home accident Wednesday afternoon around 4 00. His sister Kay six was riding a bicycle that got stuck in the grass. He pushed from behind and his thumb was crushed leading to amputation of the bone. He remained in the hospital Thursday morning as a patient.

Clifton auctions report steady cattle prices and grain quotes
Wednesday Clifton sale saw about 700 cattle offered with prices steady from last week. Slaughter steers and yearlings brought 20 to 23 dollars, cows 14 to 16, bulls 16 to 18, stocker cattle 20 to 22.50, cows with calves 125 to 200. Eggs 4 cents a dozen for large, cream at 40 cents per pound, oats 60 cents a bushel, wheat 1.80, corn 1.10, barley 75 cents. Hog tops 17 to 17.25, lamb tops 9 to 14.
