Clifton Receives 1624 Dollar City Tax Rebate
Clifton collected a 1624 dollar rebate on the one cent city sales tax funded by the Austin office of Comptroller Bob Bullock. Checks totaling 9.1 million were mailed to 478 cities as rebates last week. City rebates for the year total 239.1 million, well above 209.2 million for the same period in 1975. State auditors found over 9 million in additional local sales taxes owed Texas cities during fiscal 1976, more than double prior two years.
