Lake Whitney Fishing Yields Big Sandies Catch
Eight anglers hauled in 892 sandies over four days using slabs, spin-ners, and spoons on Lake Whitney. Other reports note good catches on slabs, spoons, and minnows with crappie from boat houses and barges and a five pound black caught on a red plastic worm. Lake Whitney level Monday was 519.64 feet, almost half a foot low.

LWML Circuit Rally Planned in Hillsboro Sunday
Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro will host the Central Texas Circuit Rally of the LWML at 2:00 PM on Sunday October 23. The event features "Messengers for Christ" as the theme with Rev H V Meissner presenting the film Unsheathed and reviewing project results. The project was allocated 10000 dollars in 1965 to train missionaries to translate Bible texts for unwritten languages and teach locals to create written forms. A short business meeting of the Central Texas Zone will also occur.

Police Report Totals Traffic Violations In Past Week
Clifton Chief of Police Eldon J. Fortess notes violations include failure to yield and improper turns with accidents reported. Two separate Monday crashes involve a 1965 Chevrolet pickup and a 1965 Ford sedan, with damages totaling about 550 dollars and no injuries. A Graham Mill truck incident on West 5th Street caused a Ford to be dragged several feet with minor damage and no injuries.
