W. S. Chamberlain of Woodlawn Baptist Austin will headline evangelistic services at Clifton First Baptist from October 18 to 25. He serves as vice moderator of the Austin Baptist Association and trustee at Mary Hardin Baylor College. Regular services are 11:00 am and 7:00 pm daily. weekday services at 9:30 am and 7:00 pm.

A 7:30 pm meeting at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norse invites landowners from Meridian and Neils Creek to discuss forming a Watershed Association. The group could seek aid under the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act to fund flood dams on Meridian and Neils Creeks and related benefits. Henry Turney of Dublin will speak on potential advantages and obstacles. attendance urged.
Clifton High School inducted new National Honor Society members at a Wednesday banquet in the cafeteria. Senior members described the four qualities of service, character, leadership, and scholarship, as a Principal Walter C. Hansen led officer elections for 1964 65 with Alton Muhlhauser as president Christie Jensen as vice president Betty Albrecht as secretary and Lila Musselman as treasurer.
Local Cubmaster Joe Brown calls boys to attend a Cub Scouts meeting at the Clifton VFW Post Home at 7 30 pm Monday night October 19. Each boy must be accompanied by a parent.
Texas Water Commission launches a multi year regional study of groundwater in Central Texas including Bosque County. The effort will assess quality of Trinity Sands aquifer and build a field based model to estimate water availability for municipalities industries and other users over at least three years with a public report planned thereafter.
Clifton High School junior class announces homecoming events featuring a Friday turkey dinner at 5 PM in the cafeteria before the Cubs face the Itasca Wampus Cats at 8 PM at Cubs Stadium. A Scribble Party follows the game and the Saturday 8 PM homecoming dance at the National Guard Armory with a band.
The Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers' Association holds a district meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday October 17 in Gatesville Elementary School Auditorium on Highway 84 east of Gatesville. Sam Kimberlin 36 of Dallas has been elected executive vice president of the Texas Bankers Association by the 17 member Administrative Council. James W. Aston, the association president and Republic National Bank of Dallas leader, announced the appointment. Kimberlin, born in Wichita Falls and educated in Austin, previously directed the Association of State Chartered Banks in Texas. Helen C. Aars, Clifton Farmers State Bank president, serves on the council.
Calvin P Colwick a longtime Clifton Record linotype operator died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Clifton on October 10 at age 57 years 7 months He had suffered a prior heart attack in June 1963 and had resumed work at the Clifton Record later that year He was born March 10 1907 in Boggy community and married Helen Thompson on November 14 1937 They had one daughter Martha Mrs Vernon Erickson

Kathy Lynn born October 7 1964 in Clifton hospital weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces. Robert Deryl born October 10 1964 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stuth of Crawford. Ruth Ann born October 11 1964 to Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Laureles. Dempsey Lee born October 11 1964 to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dale Dyess Sr. of Waco weighing 5 pounds 6 ounces.
Clifton Band Parents Association will hold its next regular meeting at 7 30 oclock on Monday night October 19 in the Band Hall. Mrs Allan (Bill) Darsey secretary treasurer invites all Clifton High School Band parents and interested residents to attend.
Nellie Jean Carr of Clifton has been elected treasurer of Phi Beta Lambda, national business organization at North Texas State University. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry A Carr, 510 S Ave J. A junior business education major, Miss Carr is a 1962 Clifton High School graduate and member of Green Jackets and the Student Education Association.
Representatives from six church and civic organizations met in Clifton City Hall and voted to establish the Clifton Welfare Agency to address emergency welfare needs. The group, including Jaycees First Methodist First Baptist Presbyterian Civic Club and Garden Club, will pool merchandise and material aid while cash gifts are avoided.
The Clifton City Council approves a public hearing date for the proposed Kruger Addition No. 6 annexation, set for 7:30 p.m. Monday November 9 in City Hall. Mayor Stevens notes the Krueger property west of the William T. Thompson home is the subject. Dean K. Harrison is appointed Clifton fire marshal, replacing Harris.
Miss Charlotte Miles daughter of Charley and Mrs Miles of Route 1 was pledged to Alpha Gamma Delta at Texas Christian University. Alpha Gamma Delta supports camps for underprivileged children and trains counselors for the handicapped with 320 fellowships and $87,000 donated since 1947. Miles was elected treasurer of the pledge class.
Fritz Thiele celebrated his 80th birthday at his Clifton area home on Sunday October 11 though his actual birth date is October 5. Relatives and friends gathered for a birthday dinner with cake coffee and punch served during the afternoon as well wishers stopped by.
Reverend and Mrs. Joe Carnley left Clifton last Friday afternoon for San Antonio to attend the General Conference of the United Pentecostal Church. Reverend Carnley is pastor of the Clifton church. The Carnleys will return home in time for Sunday services.
L. E. Tennison of Clifton has been named chairman of the Ethics and Grievances Committee of the National Society of Public Accountants for the fourth time. The appointment was made by J. B. McCalroy of Little Rock, society president. The 11,000 member group notes Tennison's prior service on other committees and his roles with the Texas Association of Public Accountants and the Texas State Board of Public Accounting. Other committee members include Robert H. Garfinkle of Boston A Erwin Colver of Pottsboro and Norman C. Rescher of Denver.
Mr and Mrs Earl Corpier of this city and his brother and sister in law Mr and Mrs J M Corpier of Brandon left Thursday for Montrose Colorado for a ten day hunt They will travel in two pickups and campers and plan to camp out and hunt the large mule deer.
