E C Eary of Clifton, 38, was severely injured when he slipped into a feed grinder on Oct 2 while checking the hopper. He lost a leg and part of another foot, with the remaining leg severely hurt. He is at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco in stated condition and works part time for Arthur L. Bronstad.

Cancer Society Bosque Unit holds first meeting of year
The Bosque County Unit of the American Cancer Society met Sept. 27 at the First Presbyterian Church in Clifton. Seventeen members from four communities registered. Awards were given for exceeding per capita goals in the crusade and for long service. The group approved continuing the Hope Raft publication and expanding coverage to Coon Creek. The next meeting is set for Nov. 22, 1971 in Clifton.
