Bible Gift Presented By King At Hyde Park Church
Roosevelt family and St Amen Episcopal Church members attended a vestry meeting in Hyde Park where a Bible gifted by King George and Queen Elizabeth was discussed. The Bible, bound in black morocco, was a memento of a June visit. King George and Queen Elizabeth worshiped there. The President did not attend morning worship and returned home to rest. A committee was formed to draft a resolution of thanks to the British monarchs. Separately, civil service exams were announced, junior nurse openings listed, and ordination plans for Rev. Ocee Johnson noted, with multiple pastors aiding in Sioux City. Job data showed rising federal and private employment nationwide.
