Delmelia Dunn Reports on Saccharin Substitutes
Saccharin may leave shelves prompting dieters to seek substitutes. Nutritive sweeteners such as xylitol sorbitol fructose and mannitol carry calorie counts that could disrupt strict diets. Natural sugars from fresh fruit may replace saccharin and ginger can boost fruit flavors while salt sharpens grapefruit. Un sweet drinks like tomato juice lemon tea and unsweetened lemonade offer low calorie options.
