Public invited to eat at Clifton schools Wednesday
The Clifton Independent School District invites the public to celebrate National School Lunch Week with a luncheon on Wednesday October 12 at both Clifton schools. The universal lunch menu features lasagne da Vinci Coliseum broccoli salad gondola garlic bread sunny Italy fruit surprise and mama mia milk. Adults pay 90 cents and students 40 cents.

CVFD assists at hotel fire and local grass blaze
The Clifton Volunteer Fire Department sent a pumper and seven men to aid Meridian Hotel firefighters who battled an unoccupied, heavily damaged structure from 9:30 p.m. to about 12:20 a.m. Local crews also responded to a grass fire near Byford Machine Tool between Clifton and Valley Mills by the railroad tracks. County to buy radar detector to outwit radar devices
