Mrs Emma Heine Dies in Clifton October First

Mrs Brams Heine aged 76 years 8 months and 19 days of Clifton died about 12 30 am Tuesday October 1 in a local hospital after medical care in Austin. Funeral services were held October 3 at Immanuel Latheram Church Clifton with Reverend W F Rolf officiating. Interment followed in Oswald Cemetery northeast of Clifton. A full obituary will run in next week's Record.

Miss Minnie Tarver Dies At 81 In Walnut Springs

Miss Minnie Tarver aged 81 years died at 12 03 PM Tuesday September 17 at the Goodall and Witcher Clinic Hospital in Clifton Mus Tarver longtime Walnut Springs resident, born in Mississippi July 17 1682, daughter of the late Lawrence Alfred Tarver and Lovella Gates Tarver, survived by brother Arthur Tarver. Funeral services were held in Walnut Springs with interment there.

Clifton superintendent Kent Appleby outlines shifts in state funding rising from 14 to 68 dollars per 100 spent, consolidation reducing schools, longer compulsory days from 120 to 165, and increased state regulation of physical education. Langseth Dies in Pasadena After Gallbladder Surgery

Lawrence O Langseth 66 of 2508 Primrose Pasadena died 5:15 pm Friday September 20 at Pasadena General Hospital following surgery for a ruptured gall bladder and internal bleeding. Born December 23 1896 in Loiten Norway he immigrated to New York in 1905 then moved to Bosque County before settling in Pasadena in 1938. Survived by son Lloyd Charles Langseth daughters Hazel Vance and Myrtle Jean Dudley. nine grandchildren. brothers Oscar P Langseth and Einar Langseth. sisters Lydia Carlson Agnes Rohne Julia Langseth and Anna Langseth. Funeral October 23 at Sharon Lutheran Church Pasadena with Rev Rudy A Kelling officiating. Music by Mrs Rudy Kelling. Active pallbearers and honorary pallbearers listed.

Lindsay Family Called to Manteno for Illness

Mr and Mrs John W Lindsay of Killeen were summoned to Manteno Illinois by the serious illness of his mother. Lindsay plans to depart for duty in Germany around October 10 while Mrs Lindsay stays in Manteno until December. She is the former Reba Nell Holley daughter of Mrs Otto Canuteson of Clifton and they wed August 30.

Underground telephone cables near Clifton completed 90 percent

Machinery for laying cables pictured as the C. & B. Pole Line contractor advances Clifton Telephone Company expansion. About 22 miles of cable laid underground north of Clifton toward Meridian creek and Harmony community. Final completion expected soon after November with new equipment by December 1.

Clifton Cubs dominate Valley Mills 44 to 0 in Clifton

Clifton High Cubs rout Valley Mills Eagles 44 to 0 on Friday night. Larry Pullin rushed for 34 and 70 yard TDs while quarterback Jerry Allen threw two scoring passes to Sam Ralph and Danny Dietiker. Clifton outgained Valley Mills on the ground 253 to 42 and recovered two Eagles fumbles to seize control.

Chief Bird Receives 109 Calls In September

Clifton Police Chief James F. Bird reported 109 calls in September with only nine traffic cases. He investigated five motor vehicle accidents causing 750 dollars property damage. A theft at a laundromat on September 11 remains under investigation. Two out of town warrants, one felony and one misdemeanor, were served.

TLC Concert Band To Appear In Clifton

Texas Lutheran College Concert Band of Seguin plans a three day tour October 12 to 14 to Clifton Dallas and Thrall. The 54 member group directed by Nyquist begins with a Clifton concert at Bettis Auditorium 7 30 PM October 12 sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church. They perform at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas October 13 and end with Thrall Gym Auditorium concert October 14 at 7 30 PM sponsored by St John Lutheran Church Thrall. Don Lippe of Crawford is among the band members.

Local Falks Head to World Series in New York City
