Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home marks ten years of care with a weekend of events October 3 4. A free barbecue supper with entertainment is planned for Saturday from 6 to 8 pm at Memorial Hall area with proceeds as a freewill offering. The steer Succulent Sam donated by Martin S Hoel Jr will be on display and beef prepared by W M Stewart and Sunset Home staff. The program includes a Sunday chapel service and special activities to honor the anniversary.

Bosque County Receives Funds for Highway Safety in 1965
The Texas Highway Commission approved 46 thousand dollars for Bosque County highway safety and improvement in 1965, covering about 20.8 miles under the supervision of Thomas H. Ralph and Irven D. Sheppard. Projects include SH 22 from Hamilton County line to SH 6 and SH 22 near Meridian to Whitney Dam with seal coat and level up work as part of a statewide program to reduce traffic accidents.

John Tanner Night at First Methodist Church
Members of the First Methodist Church and friends hosted a John Tanner Appreciation and Family Night Supper in the Fellowship Hall last Wednesday honoring Mr. Tanner for his long service. The program featured a jolly good fellow greeting, an invocation by Rev W H McCown, remarks by Rev Puntphrey, and guest speaker Rev Morton praising Tanner for his three decades as a Christian worker and his impact on the Clifton church. Tanner recalled joining the church in 1907 and serving as a steward the same day, and he closed by saying the church has meant more to him than he has to it.

Mollie Wold Hoff of Bosque County dies at Clifton Hospital after a fall caused a leg fracture and a blood clot. Born November 17 1876 near Cranfills Gap, she married Helge P. Hoff in 1898 and had four daughters Hannah Belinda Maggie. She lived at Norse then Clifton Sunset Home.
