County agents warn livestock producers to maintain vigilance against screwworm infestations that could spread to previously screwworm-free areas. October saw 1,725 cases across 107 Texas counties, with new detections in Archer, Madison, Kaufman, and Houston counties. Clifton couple to wed at First Presbyterian Church
The couple will marry at 6 30 p m on Saturday night January 25 at the First Presbyterian Church in Clifton. Miss Jameson, a University of Houston education major, previously attended Sam Houston State Teachers College where she was dormitory president and Delta Zeta officer on the dean's list. The groom, son of Martha Ludtke of Clifton and Alfred Ludtke Sr. of Houston, is a University of Houston pharmacy major, former dormitory counselor, varsity football team member, and vice-president of the Varsity H Lettermen's Club.

Clifton World War I Barracks and Auxiliary 1887 gathered at the National Guard Armory for a covered dish supper attended by 33 members and five guests. Several guests joined, including a member from Youngtown Arizona. Plans for a December 3 Christmas party were made and gifts for Temple VA Hospital veterans were invited. Gift suggestions included cigarettes lighters cigars pipes tobacco socks belts handkerchiefs stationery flashlights pen sets and candy, to be gift wrapped with donor name and contents noted. Present attendees included multiple couples led by Mr. and Mrs. Hauke and other members.
