Bosque County Republican Club met at the Lon Clifton Civic Center on November 17 for a catered dinner. Members saluted the flags, heard from Justice Tom Gray and Justice Felipe Reynoldh Court Appeals, and discussed statewide candidates. Toys were collected for deployed servicemembers at Fort Hood, and County Chair Helen Dorie introduced candidates including Dave Merit, Darren Viney, and Rob Orr. Officers for the new year were elected by acclamation: Jean Lewis president, Rick Richards vice president, Sue Fielden secretary, Mattie Derryberry treasurer.

Cub Scouts to Collect Aluminum Cans on Dec 5
Cub Scouts will collect aluminum cans on the first Saturday of each month. The next drive is Saturday December 3 in the parking lot of First Security State Bank at Wy 6 and Pat 219 in Lonins. Proceeds support Pack activities and programs. Spokesman James Mack urged saving and dropping off cans to support a great cause.
