Clifton City Council explores marketing logos slogans and billboards
In a joint session Clifton City Council and Clifton Development Corporation reviewed public input on branding for Clifton. Public relations head Charlie Hodges outlined top slogans including Jewel of Texas and Hometown Central Texas and presented local logo concepts. He proposed five highway billboards at an annual cost of 37 990, and the council approved a logo and the slogan Jewel of Texas.

Well Known Local Attorney Found Dead At Residence
Meridian sheriff reports local attorney Bradley Thomas Brad Newsom 42 found dead on his front porch at about 9 45 am by friend Cody Litteken. Justice of the Peace Samie Ander pronounced him dead at the scene. Autopsy ordered. Initial ruling indicates suicide, with a full investigation under way. Newsom was said to have been at his office earlier and returned home to meet Litteken.
