Clifton Booster Club Rally Invites Cubs Fans

The Clifton Booster Club invites all Cliftonites to a pep rally for the Bi-District Champion Cubs at 3 p.m. Friday in the Clifton Bank parking lot. Townspeople are urged to attend and cheer ahead of the regional game against DeLeon at 8 p.m. Friday in Granbury.

Clifton Cooperative Fund drive to continue in 1977

The Clifton Cooperative Fund enters a second year with a spring drive. A 1976 audit by Richard D. Lundberg reports receipts of 3 000 from 515 pledges and expenses of 89, leaving a 2 911 balance. Funds distributed to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Mental Health Mental Retardation, Red Cross, and Salvation Army, each around 590 or less, with strong volunteer participation and plans for a nominating committee and continued community involvement.

Local Break‑in Reports Thefts At Multiple Businesses

Police report several incidents including a break in at Erickson Feed where change and a calculator were stolen. At T and P Drive-In Grocery a $20 air compressor was taken. Burglars entered CPS and Bell’s Foods through the roof. cash drawer thefts noted at Bell’s. An arrest at Winn’s related to shoplifting. A bicycle theft was recovered. A DUI arrest led to jail and a $500 bond. A Nov. 13 crash near North Ave Q and Park St sent two to hospital. City pet leash violations noted as complaints to council.

Clifton Receives 3800 Sales Tax Rebate From State

Texas cities including Clifton received November rebates of the one-cent city sales tax totaling 13.2 million to 640 cities raising yearly rebates to 252.2 million. Bullock said the increase reflects higher consumer spending and a healthier economy. Houston received 2,532,776 and Springton 501.38 with other Bosque County towns Meridian 1500.40 and Valley Mills 622.18.
