Walnut Springs man beaten and robbed of 800 dollars
An 85-year-old Walnut Springs resident, George Riley, was beaten and robbed of $800 by an intruder who entered his darkened trailer. The attack occurred around 8 p.m. November 23 and Riley was treated for bruises and lacerations. Sheriff Baxter said a suspect, Billy Loyd Bruce, was arrested and held on $3,000 bond after a two day investigation.

Three injured in West 5th Street crash in Clifton
Three people were taken to Goodall Witcher Hospital Foundation after a Saturday morning crash at West 5th Street and Avenue O. Ophelia Guthrie and passengers Ralph and Ophelia Johnson suffered head injuries. A Valley Mills ambulance transported them, with Katherine Turner and Glenn Hanson driving involved vehicles also damaged. No further injuries were reported and other minor accidents were noted along North Ave G and Market Road 219. A runaway juvenile incident was resolved at a local home.
