Gas hike plea tabled by City Council

City to buy 1977 Ford pickup from Maddux Ford

City Council will award a contract to Maddux Western Ford Inc Clifton to supply a 1977 Ford pickup at 3642.89 dollars. Other bids were Gloff Motors Inc 2730 and Schmidt Meyer Chevrolet 3748.53. The Maddux bid was accepted subject to all contract specifications being met.

Cubs Aledo bi district game set for Cleburne

Clifton High Schools varsity football team co champions with China Spring in district 11A will meet Aledo High 12A champions at 8 p.m. Friday in Cleburne. Clifton is home and occupies the north stands with general admission tickets only. Pre game tickets cost adults 2 dollars and students 1 dollar. Gate tickets are 2.50 and student tickets are not sold at the gate. Tickets go on sale Thursday at Clifton Elementary and Junior High School Clifton High School and Colverts Pharmacy and remain on sale until 3 30 p.m. Friday at the schools and until 5 20 p.m. Friday at Colverts.
