17 Point Buck Killed Near Here Monday
Alan Finstad of Burleson killed a 17 point buck seven miles west of Clifton and later showed it downtown. The buck weighed 172 pounds and a five point was also taken the same morning. Clifton Locker Plant processed 37 deer since November 16 with most killed around Clifton. Many hunters traveled Bosque County as deer season harvests rise.

Bosque County Farm Bureau members reported on the State Convention in Dallas with delegates Edwin Kruse Sam Radde A C Lewis Bruce Lindsey A M Tibbs W L Gauntt and Earl Page. Highlights included Mayor Thornton’s welcome and concerns over hunger and current agriculture issues including Bangs disease hog cholera and a proposed sales tax. Delegates Lindsey and Lewis were chosen for the National Convention in Denver December 11 15 with funding support from the Texas Farm Bureau.

Clifton High Students to Demonstrate Driving Safety Tests
Clifton High School students will attend a two part safety program December 1 with a lecture in Bettis Auditorium and a driving demonstration. Joe Smetana will lead tests using an electric detonator to mark braking distance at 20 30 and 40 mph with police officers driving. The Texas Farm Bureau Safety Department sponsors the event at Bosque County Farm Bureau backing and invites the public.

P. O. Olson Dies at 68 in Hendricks Minnesota
Funeral services for P. O. Olson 68 6 24 of Hendricks Minnesota were held Friday at the First Lutheran Church conducted by Rev Albert H Holm. Olson died of a pulmonary embolism Monday afternoon November 14 after two weeks of illness. He was born April 20 1892 near Waco and reared at Norse. He married Cora Bjerke August 5 1924. Interment was in Hendricks Cemetery.
