CHS Band Prepares for UIL Contest and Local Game
Clifton High School band seeks a First Division at the UIL Marching Contest in Waco on Friday November 22 as part of a three contest sweepstakes bid. Director Mel Cowan notes years since a sweepstakes band and reports daily after school practices and a clinic by Greg Berry of Howard Payne College to sharpen performance before the Friday events. The band will perform at 1:00 p.m. and then head to Cleburne for halftime at Clifton Crowley Bi District game.

Stockholders Meet Barbecue To Attract 350
The annual meeting of stock holders of the Waco Production Credit Association is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at the National Guard Armory in Clifton City Park. About 350 members from five counties are expected. W. H. Calkins of Houston will speak, with entertainment planned and a barbecue lunch to follow. TN. Foster of Clifton serves as assistant vice president. The Clifton Field Office is at 207 West 5th St.
