The 1968 Harvest Carnival sponsored by Clifton P TA will be held Tuesday night at the local school. Carnival booths will be open from 6 to 6. There will be a supper in the cafeteria starting at 6. A musical comedy This Is My Country is presented by Junior High and High students.
Citizens respond to a Clifton feature in Dallas News and a Texas Farmer-Stockman article praising the town. The notice lists an upcoming Bettis auditorium American History sketch at 8 PM with ticket sales and a long schedule of cafeteria workers and duties for an event fundraiser.
Bosque County reports a strong opening week as 65 to 70 deer were delivered for processing at the Clifton Locker Plant through Wednesday. Silas Ragsdale of Clifton harvested the first deer, Gerald Carpenter tallied an 8 pointer on day one, and Mrs Foote and Jeff Finstad each claimed 8 pointers of similar size.

About a dozen boys and their coach from Clifton High School’s first football team gathered for a golden anniversary reunion during the Nov 1 3 homecoming weekend. Coach J O Milstead, now retired in Mount Pleasant, and his players were saluted during the game between halves.
Regular third Sunday singing at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home set for Sunday Nov 17 from 2 to 4 pm. All are invited.
The Record reports Santa Claus will visit Clifton on Nov 30 at 2 p.m. arriving by helicopter at a CPS building pad. Local crews race to install holiday lights starting Nov 24 with Lions volunteers assisting. A Christmas tree, downtown carols, a residential decoration contest, and a county-wide shopper circular are planned for the season.
Clifton aims to extend its district perfect record hosting Whitney in the final 1A Texas Schoolboy football game. The Cubs already clinched a playoff berth and will meet the winner of a Joshua Crowley match in bi district play. Whitney arrives at 7 30 p m with a 4 5 record led by backs Whitfield and Kingston.
Bosque County’s Clerk Je Read notes 45 potential jurors summoned for Judge Truman E Roberts’ court on Monday Nov 18. A planning group chose Rev Curtis Holland to preach the Thanksgiving sermon with Mrs James R Fields as soloist and a community choir directed by Andy Greer comprising volunteers from Clifton area churches. Public invited to First Baptist Church service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Nov 27 before Thanksgiving Day.
An estimated 350 people are expected for the Waco Production Credit Association 34th annual Stockholders Meeting to be held in Clifton on Saturday, Nov 23 at 10:00 a m in the Armory. Elections will be held for a director from McLennan County and five members to the 1969 Nominating Committee.
The Clifton Industrial Foundation drive reports $9,396.67 in pledges toward a $50,000 three-year goal with 300 total memberships targeted. Team captains urge return of membership cards by November 18 to Farmers State Bank or Sam Logan.
The Clifton Civic Improvement Society voting at City Hall will award $45 in prizes for outdoor residential decorations this 1968 holiday season. First and second prizes of 10 and 5 dollars will be given in three categories most beautiful most original and most religious.
