P TA Harvest Carnival Set by Clifton Unit

The 1968 Harvest Carnival sponsored by Clifton P TA will be held Tuesday night at the local school. Carnival booths will be open from 6 to 6. There will be a supper in the cafeteria starting at 6. A musical comedy This Is My Country is presented by Junior High and High students.

Bucks Kill Deer Rush In Bosque County Opening Week

Bosque County reports a strong opening week as 65 to 70 deer were delivered for processing at the Clifton Locker Plant through Wednesday. Silas Ragsdale of Clifton harvested the first deer, Gerald Carpenter tallied an 8 pointer on day one, and Mrs Foote and Jeff Finstad each claimed 8 pointers of similar size.

Santa to arrive by helicopter for Clifton Christmas event

The Record reports Santa Claus will visit Clifton on Nov 30 at 2 p.m. arriving by helicopter at a CPS building pad. Local crews race to install holiday lights starting Nov 24 with Lions volunteers assisting. A Christmas tree, downtown carols, a residential decoration contest, and a county-wide shopper circular are planned for the season.

Clifton aims to extend its district perfect record hosting Whitney in the final 1A Texas Schoolboy football game. A planning group chose Rev Curtis Holland to preach the Thanksgiving sermon with Mrs James R Fields as soloist and a community choir directed by Andy Greer comprising volunteers from Clifton area churches.
