Forty eight head sold for an average of 410.42 with 33 bulls at 451.40 and 15 females at 320.33. A L Haster reported the sale the best in years as buyers crowded the Clifton Auction ring. Top bull price was 1100 and top female 520. New officers were elected at the Clifton banquet with Mrs Grady Davis president and A L Haster secretary treasurer re elected.

Mrs Ingersoll Dies After Ill Health in Brownsville
Mrs. D. W. Ingersoll 86 of Brownsville died about 2:00 a.m. Wednesday November 9 at her home. Born in Clifton December 28, 1879 she was the daughter of W. S. Helm and Ellen Lane Helm. She married David William Ingersoll in Clifton in 1905 and they later ran a lumber business and a flour mill site now occupied by Texas Milling. Surviving are daughter Mrs. Ben Brite and a granddaughter in Brownsville, brother Dary L. Helm and sister Miss Willie Helm of Clifton. Funeral services were held November 10 in Brownsville with interment there.

Clifton High Twirlers sweep regional contest medals
Clifton High School twirlers earned seven first or second division medals at the Region VIII University Interscholastic League Twirling Contest held at McGregor High School. Solos and a trio won in both senior and junior divisions. The marching band will perform in Class A at the Region VIII contest in Waco Friday at 6 15 p m with 49 bandsmen and majorettes in uniform, then return home around 9 p m.

Livestock Survey Cards To Be Distributed By Clifton Carriers
Rural mail carriers from the Clifton Post Office will distribute livestock survey cards along their routes starting Monday November 21. The cards help set Texas farm livestock and poultry inventories for the year as reported by Postmaster Baldridge Jr. Distribution is random and not every box will have a card. Carrier names are John Bekken Clifford Jensen Bob Hauke and Allison Pete Olson. Survey data support Texas and national pig crop reports and livestock inventories used by stockmen and others in business decisions.
