One Amendment Passes Three Fail In Texas Election

In Texas elections Saturday one constitutional amendment passed and three failed. Bosque County results show two amendments carried and two defeated. Welfare payments amendment passed statewide 301,312 for 177,525 against. repeal of poll tax 237,524 for 303,763 against. Jefferson County pensions 199,865 for 234,777 against. veterans land fund 240,944 for 249,104 against. Bosque County breakdown follows.

New Uniforms Ordered for Clifton High Band

Clifton Band Parents Association approved an order for 70 uniforms plus majorette and drum major outfits from Sol Frank Uniform Company San Antonio costing 4973.60 with coats in green and white trims. Delivery to Clifton planned late January or early February and postage added. Funds raised 2050.00, leaving about 3000.00 needed. Next meeting set for November 18 at 7 30 in Band Hall. Marching contest at Bryan postponed due to weather. the group traveled Thursday for the rescheduled event.

Alfred Hardwick aged 63 of Meridian former Bosque County clerk and judge died November 7 at Clifton hospital after a long illness. Clifton Cubs Roll Over Glen Rose 30 0 in District Blowout

Clifton High School defeated Glen Rose 30 to 0 on Friday night to seal a perfect district record. The Cubs gained 222 rushing yards and 103 passing yards while holding Glen Rose to nine first downs and two Tiger interceptions. Larry Pullin led ground gains with a 40 yard keeper for the final score, as Clifton dominated despite rain prior to kickoff. The B team also won 30 14 at Midway on November 7.
