Willmann and Peterson Win Clifton Masonic Gun Raffle
Clifton Masonic Lodge 360 held a raffle to fund youth projects. Winners were Harry Willman who took a Mossberg Model 100 ATR .243 rifle and Chris Peterson who won a Savage Model 64 .22 rifle. Warden Mike Prescher presented the rifles at Keith's Ace Hardware on November 4, praising community support and noting funds aid Toys for Kids and the lodge's Thanksgiving meal for the Meridian Cluster School.

Texas sales tax declines deepen across sectors
Texas Comptroller Combs reports October sales tax revenue at 1.52 billion, down 12.8 percent from October 2008, marking continued declines since February. City distributions total 342.6 million, down 8.3 percent versus last November, with county payments at 28.2 million, down 14.2 percent.
