Circus Fails To Appear As Dated In Clifton
The Record regrets readers were misinformed by our pages about the Argus lant Saturday show. The same circus was to play San Subs and Hamilton days before Clifton but did not appear there or here. Many farm folks came early to town to see the show, only to find it did not materialize. The crowd found shopping in town more pleasant than the promised performance, and townspeople blamed the dishonest showman for false advertising in the paper.
