Basque County 4 H names Gold Star Girl and Boy for 1963

Carolyn Reierson and Bob Viertel named Basque County 4 H Gold Star recipients for 1963 in a district note from Floyd M Key and Miss Lucille Watson. Reierson, active 4H leader and award winner, has extensive clothing and home economics honors and leadership roles. Viertel shows goats and multiple demonstrations, earning state and district honors and serving as club president and county leader. They to attend district banquet at Tarleton State College and county achievement event in Clifton.

Polled Hereford Sale and Show Weekend in Clifton

The Central Texas Polled Hereford Association holds a three day event in Clifton October 31 to November 2. Friday features show at 9:00 AM judged by Paul Murphey Jr. with a 7:00 PM banquet and business meeting at Clifton City Hall. Sale begins 1:00 PM Friday. The Bosque County Program Building Committee will meet Thursday November 7 at 7 30 p m in the Meridian District Courtroom to review the 1964 program. Meridian Masons Honor Felix Shaffer with 50 Year Pin

Meridian Masonic Lodge hosts a 7:30 p.m. Monday November 4 ceremony to award Felix Shaffer a 50 year pin from the Grand Lodge of Texas. Shaffer, grandfather of Mrs. Charles Jorgenson and Mrs Rex Anderson of Clifton, is noted for half a century of Masonic work. Oscar H Omenson Dies at 76 in Clifton Area

Oscar H Omenson aged 76 years 6 months 22 days of Route 2 Clifton died Thursday October 24 at Goodall and Witcher Hospital after years of ill health. He farmed and oversaw Norway Mills Threshers for 26 years. He married Dora Colwick in 1913 and had four children Evelyn Mrs Mervin Bakke Oscar II Jr Olaf Lloyd and Mrs Carl Harris. He was active in community affairs and valued schools roads and family gatherings.

Doe permit area changes named for 1963 deer season map

Bosque County maps show the 1963 doe permit area beginning November 16. Areas altered lie south of Highway 219 between Clifton and Crawford Gap and along Highway 144 north of Meridian and Highway 56 from Highway 174 to Brazos Point and Eulogy. The route details cover Meridian, FM 927, Walnut Springs, Morgan, Union Hill, Eulogy, and Coryell County lines with land on specific sides of roads designated as in the doe area.

Ralph Gray Dies Suddenly In Waco

Ralph BE Gray age 51 of Waco died after a heart attack Wednesday night at Hillcrest Hospital. He had worked in Waco with Chevrolet firms and is survived by wife Ralph B Gray, son Ralph E Gray Jr, and five sisters and a brother.
