Clifton students take all day field trip to Austin and San Antonio
About 70 Seventh Grade Texas History students from Clifton Junior High accompanied by chaperones traveled by two Clifton school buses on May 14. The group left around 5:30 a.m. for a daylong trip to Austin and San Antonio.

Clifton Junior High teachers and parents led about 70 seventh graders on a May 14 field trip to Austin and San Antonio. Highlights included a Capitol tour, lunch at Brackenridge Park, visits to the Alamo La Villita Mission de San Jose Witte Museum and Brackenridge Park Zoo, with supper at Wyatt's Cafeteria before returning to Clifton.

The 622 foot Tower of the Americas in San Antonio will start about September 1 and finish within a year. HemisFair president Marshall T. Steves notes the timing allows use before the April 6 1968 exposition opening expected to attract over seven million visitors. Rosa M. Gonzalez of Corpus Christi won the naming contest receiving a $100 savings bond a three day trip for her family and a season pass to the exposition. nine runners up receive $25 savings bonds.

Mrs Geltmeyer Returns Home After Fort Worth Visit
Mrs. George Geltmeyer returned home last Friday after more than two weeks visiting her son-in-law and daughter Mr and Mrs A N Strater and their children and also her step-daughter and her family Mr and Mrs Ernest Ale manke and Don in Fort Worth. She enjoyed sightseeing during the Fort Worth trip.
