Deadline Approaching for Bosque Cotton Transfer Ballots
Bosque County cotton producers face the May 25 deadline to vote on upland cotton allotment transfers within Texas. Ballots were mailed by the ASCS Meridian office. they must be received by May 25 or hand delivered by close of business. The vote decides whether farmers may sell or lease allotments to users in other Texas counties for three years. transfers outside Texas are forbidden. Ballots are secret but counted publicly at 9:30 a.m. May 27.

Watershed projects deemed feasible by meeting crowd

They heard SCS official Jim Cunningham say the Meridian Neils Creek watershed is feasible for a Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Program and could be studied further.
