Clifton Band Parents Association elected officers for 1963 64 at their last meeting in the Band Hall Jerry Godby was named president Eldon Zimmermann vice president and Mrs L P Sehrents secretary treasurer Retiring officers were EB Harrix Jerry Godby and Mrs W T Holder A fund drive has raised about 1080 toward new band uniforms and letters were mailed to about 1500 Clifton ISD taxpayers. The group plans an awards banquet in Waco with transportation arranged by the Program and Entertainment Committee.

George Geltemeyer Dies Here May 22
Clifton residents mourn the death of George Geltemeyer age 83 years 16 days at the local hospital where he had been a patient since May 18 He lived at 603 West Maple Street and died around 6 30 Wednesday morning Funeral services were held May 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church with interment in Clifton Cemetery The Record plans a complete obituary in a future issue

Clifton Texas junior baseball opens in 1963 Teen Age League with Freshman and Peewee divisions. Green and Black Peewees and Red Peewees, plus Freshman squads from Clifton and Turnersville, begin May 28 at Clifton City Park with 6 PM and 8 PM games. Valley Mills Firms Named Low Bidders for Highway 6 Project

Clifton's Braves, a young men's baseball team, won two games over the weekend. They defeated Oglesby 123 at 8:00 PM Saturday and beat Whitney 5-1 Sunday at 2:00 PM. Willenborg and Atkinson pitched. Patterson and Powers caught. Patterson and Willenborg formed the battery in the Whitney game. Scheduled for next weekend are games against the Lake View Cardinals of Waco at 7:30 PM Saturday and Whitney at 3:00 PM Sunday.

Youth In Stolen Cars Apprehended
Two youths aged 14 and 15 from Handley and Hurst in Tarrant County were stopped near the Bosque County junction of Highways 174 and 56 by a multi-agency detail. They had been driving a Circle M Ranch employee’s car and were linked to four stolen vehicles including cars taken in Medford Rio Vista and Morgan. They were released to Tarrant County juvenile authorities. neither had a driver's license.

Former Clifton Resident Dies in Waco Funeral Rites Held
Former Clifton resident W. W. West, 66, of 4017 Windsor Ave, Waco, died suddenly in his car. Justice of the Peace ruled heart attack as cause. He formerly lived in Clifton, built a home on West Pecan St, ranching near Abilene and Clifton. Survived by son Daryl West and daughter Mrs. Tom Cawood of Waco. Funeral services held May 11 at Wilkinson and Hatch Chapel.

The first 1963 crop wheat in Clifton came Thursday from the P. B. Johnson farm in Coyote. Henry Sanders combined the grain, Texas Milling Company paid $200 a bushel, moisture was just over 13 percent, and the yield was 16 bushels per acre.
