Clifton police report a series of incidents over several days including a break at the Clifton post office entry through a roll service window. No money or stamps missing. Other incidents include a radio theft from a car at Maddux Western Ford and two bike thefts with one recovered. Courthouse Annex Renovations Continue in Meridian
Remodeling of the county courthouse annex in Meridian proceeds with County Judge C. K. Ward Jr. and County Commissioners touring the site. Davis Building and Supply of Meridian is the contractor. The State Department of Public Welfare will occupy the entire first floor after completion, while the second floor will host the county superintendent of schools office, CETA, and possibly County Extension Agents Delmelia Dunn and George T. Wages. The new second floor adds four offices and two restrooms to a space formerly used for storage and previously housed the Meridian Bank and historical law offices.
