Raymond Rogstad a Conoco distributor in Clifton returned home after the Texas Oil Marketers Association annual Dallas convention where a record crowd of about 1300 discussed ways to meet the energy crisis. Delegates urged restricting out of state shipments, appealing to Washington to ease price controls, forming buying groups for crude and gasoline, and urging the public to conserve energy.
