Statewide quarantine ordered as hog cholera rises
Dr. H Q Sibley acting executive director of the Texas Animal Health Commission ordered a swine movement restriction across Texas to curb hog cholera. The quarantine, signed March 22 1971 by Joe B Finley Jr chairman, takes effect March 29 and lasts 60 days with permits required for farm to farm movement and special permission for shows or feeder sales.
