Open to the public in Waco Sunday troops from WW I Barracks 1887 and Auxiliary will gather at City Hall on Tuesday March 28 at 6 30 p m for a covered dish supper. A business meeting will follow the meal with Mrs Langsford and Mrs Elder as hostesses.
Clifton Cindermen place third at Crowley, 3 points behind Granbury as Tony Hall sprints 440 yards in 15.9 seconds, two seconds off the national freshman record. Cubs also claim a 3:30.4 mile relay, with Hall, Wallace, Symank, and Hall anchoring.
Clifton native Miss Renee Tweedle receives the Texas State Teachers Association School Bell award for reporting in the Waco Tribune Herald. Her achievement honors her Clifton High School teachers and inspires local interest in journalism among natives. Also noted is CHS Stage Band’s Monday performance praised for not just technical skill but showmanship and audience delight.

The 1972 American Cancer Society Crusade theme Take Time Out For Life aims to promote donor health investments. April 17-22 cover Bosque County with chairpersons Mrs. T N Foster and residential heads Mrs. M B Jameson Mrs. Ross Hancock Mrs. Henry Dunlap and Mrs. Claud Hardie. National chair Joan Crawford and Texas Crusade Chairman Mrs. Jim Lewis lead the effort. A Bosque County unit meeting is set for March 27 at 7 p.m. in Clifton Church hall to distribute kits.
The Clifton Cubs Booster Club will hold a special meeting Monday at 7 30 p m at the High School to plan the annual Cub Relays set for April 1. The boosters help track officials run the big event which supports hundreds of high school athletes in the region. Tohoka High School coach praised last year’s meet and said they would return this spring.
A joint IRS NAIRE press release announced a tentative multi unit bargaining contract covering about 28 000 employees in roughly 50 district offices nationwide. The paper muses a tongue in cheek wish the workers had struck to reduce tax collection this spring.
