Laguna Park residents and West Shore Civic Improvement Association urged Commissioners Court to fast track a nine and a half mile road from FM 56 south to link with FM 2490 at the Bell County line to aid seniors and farmers. Major Crimes Declined in Texas in 1972 DPS Report
Col. Wilson E Speir of the Texas Department of Public Safety announced that total major crimes in Texas declined 2.2 percent in 1972 from 1971, to 472011, marking only the fourth yearly drop since the mid forties. The rate fell 6 percent to 40519 per 100000 population, with burglary the sole category up. Urban and rural areas both saw declines, with clearances generally steady or improving in several categories.

Bosque Memorial Museum Sees Successful Fund Raising
Bosque Memorial Museum Executive Board reports strong fundraising to install a roof, heat and cooling, with future expansion plans. A local firm gave 750 dollars for the roof. Odie Pederson and Ted Evans led bids and contracts with Central Texas Lumber Co. Donations include 30 gifts of three dollars, 39 gifts of ten dollars, 19 gifts of twenty five dollars, and ten gifts of ten dollars from patrons, plus memorials supporting museum improvements. The board invites the public to visit Sundays 2 to 9 pm and notes plans to add a wing and display space.
