Marker Fund Reaches For Pierson Grave Site Memorial
The $250 needed to fund a state marker at the Cleng Pierson death site has been secured. The State Historical Survey Commission will approve the application and the dedication marker should be ready in five to six months, to be placed on 04 Hwy 219 eight and a half miles west of Clifton. Contributions came from the Clifton Chamber of Commerce Clifton Lions Club Bosque County Historical Committee and several individuals including Mrs August Heck of Dallas Mrs Steve Stroup Mrs Ernest Rohne Cranfus Gap Murray Jensen Denton and local residents Carl and Rex Colwick Starkville Miss.

John Bullard a 23 year old Hillsboro volunteer fireman drowned near Old Fort Park after falling from a boat. West Shore Lake Whitney Hillsboro and Lakeview departments searched into dusk then resumed at dawn finding the body about 0 30 am Monday. Eleven departments aided. survivors include his parents three brothers and a sister with Bullard employed at a Hillsboro service station.
