Edwin Nichols 41 of Valley Mills dies in a Beechcraft crash near Flagstaff Arizona while en route to California. The accident also kills three others from Lampasas and Dellas. Wreckage found on Table Mountain northwest of Kreenen with engines buried and plane scattered.

Glen Judah, Clifton Public Schools band instructor, notes 12 students earned first division medals at the UIL Region I Selo and Ensemble Contest held at Baylor University’s Waco Hall last Saturday. T L Allison Dies In Dallas Rites Here Monday
Thomas Leonard Allison 57 of Route 1 Clifton died of a heart attack at Baylor Dallas Hospital on March 12. A Shell Oil retiree who lived in Shuler Park Lake Whitney since 1963, he left Denver City earlier. Survived by wife Ruth Kennedy Allison and five children, three brothers and 15 grandchildren. Funeral held March 15 at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. C. J. McQuillen officiating. pallbearers named.

Remington Home Fire Causes Smoke Damage in Clifton
Smoke damage reported at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Car PF Remington Sr on SR South Avenue G Clifton after a kitchen stove fire Saturday afternoon. Frozen meat thawing in water in a pan on the stove ignited the blaze. Mrs D C Leonard in upstairs rooms smelled smoke and alerted Charlotte Turner who traced and stopped the fire. Damaged drapes from recent redecorating.

Nightwatchman Zack Kidwell, linked with Franklin County Sheriff’s Dept since 1963, becomes Chief of Police after Clarence Beasley resigns to become deputy sheriff of Coryell County.
