Robert E B Rinford Post 8883 of the Veteran of Foreign Wars in Chiftes elected officers for the coming year at a regular meeting. Dan Amundson was reelected commander with Sim Amundson as senior vice commander and Jodie Amundson chaplain. Doyle Hulme was reelected quartermaster and Owen Sparks judge advocate. Clifford Dyer surgeon and Clifford Bremetad trustee were named. District Commander Clifford Teer of Waco will install the slate at the April meeting.

Sunset Home Names New Superintendent Arriving March 29
Willard Stromvall and his family will arrive in Clifton on March 22 to assume duties as Sunset Home’s new superintendent on April 1. He comes from Ebenezer Home in Minneapolis where he served as assistant administrator for three years, managing budget maintenance and personnel for a 30 bed facility with an approximate budget of $800,000.

Hendrick Dahil Dies In Clifton Hospital
Hendrick A Dehi of Route 2 Clifton died at 3 o clock Friday afternoon March 19 in the Lorst hospital after a stroke. He lived one mile east of Clifton and worked along Highway until his breakdown. He is survived by his wife and children, with burial details to follow in the continuation on the back page.

Charley A Brown aged 91 years 10 months 14 days died March 17 at Luther Hall Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home Clifton Texas after years of ill health He was born May 3 1873 in Henderson County Texas one of 14 children Married Cora Josephine Bronsted March 2 1902 They had three children Milton Cari and Mire Pederson Predeceased by wife in 1972 He lived most of his life in Clifton Harmony community and farmed retiring in 1944 to Clifton then to the Sunset Home He was known for farming cattle and a well kept lawn with grandchildren Martha Helen and Charlee Pederson among those who lived with them.

Mr and Mrs James Crosley of Dallas spent last weekend in Clifton visiting his parents Mr and Mrs Joe Crosley. They came to see his father who became a medical patient in the local hospital to undergo tests and X rays Thursday morning of last week. Fishermen Net 475 Sand Bass at Lemmon's Camp
