George E. Anderson senior vice commander of Selmer Erickson Post No 322 Clifton received multiple honors for signing over 100 members this year. Clifford T. Dyer post commander earned awards for signing 25 members and for leadership in the 1960 drive. The post, meeting at the City Park Legion clubhouse, leads District 11 with 137 members toward a 134 quota.

Danna Wells Undergoes Surgery at Scottish Rite Crip Hospital
Mrs. Dan Wells and Danna Wells of Lubbock were in Dallas last Sunday for Danna's operation Monday at the Scottish Rite Crip Children's Hospital. Mr. Morrow returned to Clifton while Mrs. Morrow stayed in Dallas and later accompanied Danna’s mother to Clifton. Danna is granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wells of Meridian.

Services Set Friday For Mrs. Tom Price
Relatives and friends were shocked by the sudden death of Mrs. Tom Price aged 67 an employee at Luther Hall Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton. She suffered a paralysis stroke Wednesday night and died Thursday morning in a local hospital. Funeral services are scheduled Friday March 18 at 2 30 pm at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel and 3 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church Norse with interment in the church cemetery.

Mrs Breeding Mother Of Clifton Resident Dies
Mrs Tom J Breeding of 108 Craig Street Hillsboro died in a Waco hospital at 2 30 Tuesday morning March 15 after a long illness. She was the mother of Mrs W C Hurst formerly of Clifton now of Dallas and had often visited Clifton. Funeral services at Marshall and Marshall Chapel Hillsboro at 3 Friday afternoon March 18 with interment in Ridge Park Cemetery Hillsboro.

Mrs. L. E. Faubion of South Bosque aged 62 years 3 months 7 days died Sunday night March 13 in the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home infirmary after a long illness. She was mother of Mrs. Lloyd Orbeck of this city and wife of L. E. Faubion. She had lived in South Bosque for years and was a Methodist. Funeral services were held March 15 in Waco with interment at Rosemound Cemetery. She leaves a son Carroll Douglas Faubion, daughters Mrs. Fred Orr of Austin and Mrs. Orbeck of Clifton, four sisters and eight grandchildren.

Cubs To Compete At Tarleton Relays In Stephenville
Clifton High School will enter all events at the Tarleton Relays in Stephenville on Saturday March 19. Rallin Aars led the Fort Worth showing with a high hurdles qualifying effort. The mile relay and sprint relay squads feature Ludtke Mull er Dahl Aars and Willenberg Erickson Allen Kettler respectively. Freshman Glenn Murphree shows promise in the high jump. Weekly Clifton meets on Tuesdays draw schools such as Valley Mills Hillsboro Meridian Hamilton Glen Rose McGregor Itasca Connally and Stephenville. The new track was rebuilt after flood damage and cost concerns are noted with a curb still needed.

Obituary for John Bernhardt Ludwig a Clifton resident for decades who died March 14 at the Dallas Veterans Hospital at age 70. The World War I veteran, former service station operator, and father of four is survived by his wife Leona Kanz Ludwig and his children Ora Louise Johnnie A William L and Owen with grandchildren among mourners. Funeral was held March 14 in Clifton with Reverend J E Morton officiating. Burial followed at Kanz Cemetery.

County Democrats Plan Rally In Clifton April 16
The Bosque County Democratic Rally and dinner will be April 16 at the National Guard Armory in Clifton.
