Miss Mabel Whitney wed Roger S Nevels in a quiet February ceremony at the bride’s parents home. Rev W J Shelton officiated as guests admired the decorated room and wedding cake. The couple, both natives of Texas communities, will reside in Brownfield after a brief honeymoon trip to Fayette Mississippi.

Arno Dittrich's Pig Wins Grand Prize in Fort Worth
Arno Dittrich a thirteen year old pupil from Clifton High School won the grand champion Berkshire barrow in the Fort Worth Fat Stock Show. His win follows strong support from friends and family as he pursues animal husbandry in the eighth grade.

Clifton's Oldest Citizen Buried Last Saturday
Clifton mourns as Mr. A R Clark, born 1849, dies at his daughter's home. Funeral held Saturday at 6:40 pm with Elder Mack Stirman officiating. Pallbearers were grandchildren. interment in Clifton cemetery. He celebrated his ninety second birthday at home prior to death. Clark was a Church of Christ member baptized in 1878 and married Nancy Alice Bonner in 1874, with five children surviving.

Interscholastic League Meet Set for Clifton Dates
The Bosque County Interscholastic League Meet will be held in Clifton on March 19 20 21 28 29 and April 5. Events include vocal harmony extemporaneous speaking one act play declamations story telling choral singing and various track and field finals. Friday March 21 features spelling ready writers debate and a full track program at Clifton Football Field with high hurdles dash discus shot put and high jump preliminaries and finals across divisions.

Pettit Ranch Hosts Bosque County Hereford Group Dinner
Mr and Mrs Chas Pettit and daughter Mrs Thompson of Dallas entertained Bosque County Hereford Association members and guests at the Chas Pettit ranch northwest of Walnut Springs. A barbecue dinner followed touring of the 22000 acre spread, with展示 cattle including about fifty registered Hereford bulls valued at 3500 each. Jim Rushing led outdoor entertainment before tours of the barns and sections showcasing mainly Hereford stock, plus two carloads of registered Holstein cattle shipped recently as an experiment.
