In Clifton the mayoral race will be decided by the candidate with the most write in votes on Saturday April 2. Incumbent Mayor Jim B. The Clifton Bank hosts a Institute of Texan Cultures exhibition titled The Texas Rangers Their First 150 Years from March 15 to April 15. It charts the Rangers from early labels to modern DPS officers, with about 150 pictures on 48 display panels. Extensive damage occurred at the Charles Henkelman residence at 802 South Ave. H. when a blaze Friday night drew the Clifton Volunteer Fire Department. The CVFD also battled three grass fires during the week at the Wiede property and the Milton Dahl Jr. property on Sunday and again Monday.

Clifton Man Dies in Farm Road 1637 Crash
Henry A. Anz of Clifton died when his pickup overturned on Farm Market Road 1637 near China Spring. Passenger Gary G. Babbitt of Clifton was treated at Providence Hospital in Waco and released. The wreck occurred as the truck ran off the road, overturned multiple times, and Anz suffered fatal head injuries.
