Poage urges early release of Pueblo crisis reservists
Rep. W. R. Poage urges Melvin Laird to release army reservists and National Guardsmen called up during the Pueblo crisis. He argues the emergency no longer exists, that continued activation harms civilian jobs, and questions the Army’s justification for keeping them on active duty. He notes many are citizen soldiers with families and business obligations.
