The Girl Scout cookie drive in Clifton and surrounding area started Feb 28 and runs to March 8. Chairwoman Mrs Robert Rachiig invites anyone not yet contacted to call her or any Girl Scout or Brownie. Cookies cost 50 cents per box. Some girls work toward camperships. A recipes pamphlet using cookie varieties is available on request.

Mr and Mrs Joe Kral Jr of Clifton Floral attended the Ninth Annual Design School in Waco on March 2 hosted by The Central Texas Allied Florist Association. Bob Harvey of Paris Texas led designers from Louisiana Texas and Illinois teaching new techniques after breakfast and luncheon. Mrs Kral, a charter member and former secretary of CT AFA, participated in the event.

In Bosque County seven people died in five fatal crashes and 71 were injured in 32 personal injury accidents, with $95,981 in property damage across 159 incidents. The regional total recorded 216 crashes, 260 deaths, 2,554 injuries, and $4,156,491.00 in damage for the year, compared with 4,988 crashes in 1967 causing 237 deaths and 2,647 injuries.
