Mrs John Nabors, 77, of Denton died Tuesday afternoon at Flow Memorial Hospital after a heart attack that followed a period of convalescence. Funeral services set for Friday at 2:00 PM in Clifton Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Poston Odle Cemetery. Interment in Valley Mills area follows. Mrs Nabors was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Tom Pool of Liften and lived near Clifton most of her life.

Meridian woman dies at 73 after heart attack
Mrs. Tom Sheppard of Meridian, formerly Myrtle Damon, died at home at 5 PM Monday. Born September 2, 1876, in Crawford, she was daughter of Amos Damon and Sarah Damon. A longtime Meridian resident, she and her husband ran a grocery near the circle. Surviving relatives include nephews and nieces. Funeral 4 PM Tuesday in Meridian, Rev. Roy H. Hill presiding. Interment in Meridian cemetery.

Fireworks Display Moved To Sunset Home Anniversary
The Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home will host a fireworks show on Saturday October 3 during its tenth anniversary celebration. Roy Trout of Atlas Enterprises Fort Worth normally organizes the July 4 display but this year the event moves to October 3 with a large barbecue at 6 00 PM and a spectacular fireworks show directed by Mr Trout for residents and guests.

A new mail schedule begins July 1 after the Missouri Kansas Texas Railroad ends service. Incoming mail arrives at 8:15, with 5:39 p.m. outgoing first class and parcel post. Family visits to Baylor Hospital lift injured man’s spirits
Mrs John R Fort and Elton J Fort from this city along with Mr and Mrs George L Herber and daughters of Waco visited at Baylor Hospital in Dallas on Tuesday June 23. They came with Stanley H Miles husband of their relative who was seriously injured and his wife killed in an automobile crash near Muleshoe. Miles had hip surgery two weeks earlier and was able to walk some during the visit, with observers noting a miraculous recovery.

Hoel Sr of Norse president of the Bosque Memorial Museum in Clifton said Bosque Territory is available to the public this week at the Farmers State Bank in Clifton from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sundays and at the museum. Copies may also be secured at other Bosque County banks. The book was first shown at the Clifton museum with Dr. William C. Pool present to autograph purchases. The Bosque County Historical Society Committee funded publication and will receive proceeds from sales via Dr. Pool.

Approximately 1 010 head of cattle were offered at the Wednesday auction in Clifton. The market was steady with last week as good to choice steers and yearlings ranged from 18 to 21 dollars. Canner and cutter cattle brought 8 to 11 dollars, stocker steers 19 to 22, and butcher calves 19 to 22. Cows and calves sold from 110 to 160 dollars.
