Plans Made At Second Lanes Chapel Reunion
The second annual Lanes Chapel reunion was held Sunday June 5 with about 100 in attendance. Members greeted friends then shared a basket lunch and gathered for a business meeting opened by George Lane from Waco. A donation fund was proposed for repainting the church and upkeep of the grounds, but it was learned the church had been disbanded and members joined the First Methodist Church in Clifton.

Obituary for Neary Mc Dougal in Clifton
Funeral services for Neary Mc Dougal aged 43 were held at Immanuel Lutheran Clifton with Rev Paul F. Uhles officiating. He died June 15 after a cerebral hemorrhage and blood clot complications with a long hospital course. He served in World War II and was night foreman at Wilson Building Material Company Clifton.

W R New Dies At Clifton Hotel
W R New and his wife operated the New Hotel at 403 South Avenue G Clifton. He died at about 1 30 PM Tuesday June 21 after another heart attack while sitting in a chair at the hotel. He was 65 years 9 months 14 days old. Funeral services were at 4 PM Thursday June 23 at First Methodist Church Clifton conducted by Rev J E Morton. interment in Clifton Cemetery. The Record will publish a full obituary next week.

New FM Road Takes Heavy Traffic Load
Bosque County reports FM 854 a mile long linking Highway 6 with a Mosheim Valley Mills route carrying traffic comparable to Clifton to Womack. The Texas Highway Department built the entire road. Bosque also hosts the state’s shortest FM Road FM 1859 in Koppers at .292 miles from 11th and Avenue C to 3rd and Avenue C.

One Hundred Guardsmen To Attend Camp At North Fort Hood
Bosque County National Guard Co C 148th Infantry 36th Division will send 100 enlisted men and six officers to a two week summer encampment at North Fort Hood from June 26 to July 10. An advance party departed Clifton Thursday for Flame Warfare School Food Service School and other training. The group includes officers Lieutenants Weir Pierson Ford and Conrad and many noncommissioned officers, specialists and privates. A parade honoring Governor Price Daniel is planned for July 2 at 9 00 AM with families invited.

Bosque County Range Clinic Field Day Declared Successful
The Bosque County Range Management Clinic and Field Day on Tuesday June 14 drew about 70 attendees for the morning program and free barbecue plus around 150 spectators for a timber clearing demonstration at Parks Hereford Ranch. Speakers included Waymon D. Davis R. G. Burwell Irvin Poff and Bosque and area conservation staff. The event showcased deferred grazing cost benefits ACP payment details and a large timber clearing demo using a K G Blade on a Parks Hereford Ranch tract seven miles west of Meridian.
