Grand jury indicts driver in fatal head on crash
In Meridian a grand jury charged Phillip Leroy Giles of Whitney with involuntary manslaughter after a June 4 head on collision on State Highway 6 within the city. Four died including Lucille Nomion 79 Antonia Valadez 18 Meridian and Agalelia Valadez 49 Meridian. Four others were injured. Bond set at 20000. Giles to appear in Meridian after VA hospital discharge.

Clifton to upgrade traffic signs meet federal standards
Clifton will spend about 815 dollars for 104 12 foot tubular posts and mounting hardware plus 1410 dollars for signs. Bicycle theft and minor crash report in police log
A brown Western Flyer 10 speed bicycle was stolen from a yard on Old Mill Rd, reported to police at 4:30 a.m. The theft occurred at 3:45 a.m. No injuries in a 12:30 p.m. two-car collision in the Dairy Queen lot caused light damage to one sedan. the other was undamaged.
