W L Turner 64 died Monday night at his Turnersville home likely from a heart attack. He was born at Lawes Chapel and farmed then shorn sheep and goats. Survived by wife Kathryn Cathey Turner four sons Clyde Turner and Joe Turner sister Mrs Lythl Carpenter and brother Clyde Turner. Funeral at Scott's Funeral Home Gatesville Thursday June 17 with interment in Turnersville Cemetery.

Clifton High student Doug Phillips suffers serious horseback injuries
Doug Phillips age 16 son of Mr and Mrs Matt Phillips of 806 South Avenue M Clifton sustained two broken legs and a broken finger in a horseback riding accident at Gavatt place. He was knocked from his horse after brushes a tree and taken to Clifton hospital where doctors expect eight weeks traction. He played on Clifton High football and hoped to start in 1968.

Son Injured by Mower Wire In Payne Yard
John Wayne Payne 29 son of Mr and Mrs Rove Payne of 264 West 11th Street was injured Monday when baling wire from a lawn mower struck him in the forehead and mouth. He was treated at the local hospital and returned home, with skull X-rays showing no fracture. Friends report he is doing fine after the accident.

Clifton Fire Department Tackles Trash Fire On Pickup
Clifton volunteers answered a call around 1 00 PM on Monday to put out a blaze on a pickup truck hauling trash to the dump. Emmett Stewart Jr was transporting the load from the E E Stewart home when the fire started before the dump. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and the bed remained undamaged.
