Ribbons were awarded for blue and red judging with participants from Cranfills Gap, Mosheim, Clifton, and Meridian. Special dancing and Share the Fun performances rounded out the event.

Fray Baltzell Native of Camden Laid to Rest in Clifton
Funeral services for Fray Baltzell aged 66 of Camden Arkansas were held at 2 00 pm Sunday May 31 at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel conducted by George C Herrscher. Baltzell died after a heart condition worsened in Waco on Friday May 29 and was pronounced dead at Hillcrest Hospital. He had married Hazel Gates in July 1963 and the couple had split time between Camden and Waco. Pallbearers named were Alton Stevens Carter Glass L J Burch Jr Jim York C E Stevens and E V Stevens. Interment was in Clifton Cemetery per his wishes. His wife survives.

Mrs Roy Humes Dies at 66 at Turnersville Family Home
Mrs Mayme Jane Rowe Humes aged 66 of Turnersville died at her home on May 27 after a period of illness. Born May 25 1898 at Turnersville she married Roy F Humes in 1915 and they raised ten children. Funeral services were held May 30 at Scott Funeral Home Gatesville with interment in Turnersville Cemetery.

Clifton Boy to undergo open heart surgery in Dallas
David Leal Hall a Clifton resident and son of Mr and Mrs David C Hall will have open heart surgery on Tuesday June 9 at Texas Children's Medical Center Dallas. He hasIB heart defect since birth and attended Clifton Public Schools First Grade this past semester. He has two younger brothers Tommy 5 and Ricky Lee 4 months. Dr Milton V Davis and staff will perform the operation. Mrs Gerald Peacock had minor surgery June 1 and returned home June 2.

Retires After 37 Years Of Teaching In Clifton
Mrs E E Schow concludes a 37 year teaching career as she leaves the Clifton Public Schools on May 28 1964. She taught between 1100 and 1200 children and plans a Europe trip with her husband before returning in July. Schow born December 12 1903 in Auburn grew up on farms near Fairy and Tye.

He has just finished his sophomore year at Tarleton State College in Stephenville and plans to return in the fall. At Tarleton J W is a Tarleton Players member on the newspaper staff and was re elected president of Alpha Phi Omega, the only person to hold that office more than once.
