The Clifton Cemetery Association received a $6,000 estate gift from Mrs. A. W. Rachuig of Van Vieck. Her will also left $2,000 bequests to Robert Gloff Anna Gloff and Clara Gloff and similar sums to Bay City Olney and Anson cemeteries. E. E. Schow said the gift will be used for the cemetery’s benefit.

Central Texas Conference of the Methodist Church discontinues services at Lanes Chapel near Clifton and merges the congregation with First Methodist Church in Clifton. After Sunday night services on July 24, members enjoyed a watermelon feast in the Clifton church Educational Building hosted by WSCS and the Men's Club. Reverend J. E. Morton received welcomes from Jack R. Hill and Mrs. Joe Little, with a surprise pounding for the pastor and wife.

Qualified Meridian Independent School District taxpayers will vote on July 30 to approve a $70,000 bond for a new all metal gymnasium covering about 10,000 square feet with a 50 by 90 foot court and bleachers for 480 spectators on the school campus. Mrs Grimland Dies After Stroke at Clifton Sunset Home
Mrs. Reno S. Grimland aged 70 6 18 died in Clifton hospital after a stroke suffered at the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home where she had lived since 1957. Funeral services were held at the Sunset Home and Trinity Lutheran Church Fort Worth with pallbearers and honorary members named. Surviving are her husband Beno S Grimland five children two daughters and nine grandchildren among other relatives.

Jerry Allen pitched a complete game as Reds starter Johnny Kettler struggled after a strong early showing. Earlier, Greens beat Reds 6-5 in the B squad contest, closing the summer with only one one-run loss. In post season Clifton teams swept Kopper, Clifton B 16-9 and Clifton A 12-4 to finish strong.

Clifton buyers list Thursday prices across poultry grain cattle
Prices quoted Thursday show poultry eggs at various doz rates and hens at six cents a pound. Cream at forty cents per pound. Grain includes oats, wheat, barley and corn with ranges. Cattle sale had four hundred twenty five head, with steers, yearlings, calves and cows priced from nineteen to twenty five dollars for select cattle and fourteen to fifteen fifty for cows. Hog tops reached seventeen twenty five to seventeen seventy five, lamb tops nine to sixteen. Next week sale times set for hog and lamb at eleven, cattle at one thirty.
