Funeral services set for Thursday July 25 at 2:30 pm at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel and 3:30 pm at First Methodist Church Cranfills Gap, with Rev. Dale Yant and Rev. Albert Petrich officiating. Guard Returns Sunday From 2 Week Training
NORTH FORT HOOD Texas airborne Army Guardsmen from the Clifton area return to home stations Sunday July 28 after 15 days of field training. The 71st Infantry Brigade Airborne includes Company A 1st Battalion 43rd Infantry Clifton and Stephenville commanded by Capt Gene O Neal. Brigade commander Brig Gen Thomas D Blackwell of Austin says the unit is the nation s only airborne reserve brigade. An artillery battalion from Port Arthur will leave Saturday but most of the 2 300 troops will travel home in convoys Sunday.

Local women first in region to receive artificial pacemakers

10.7 Miles of Bosque FM Roads Approved for ’68
The Texas Highway Commission approves 10.7 miles of Farm to Market roads in Bosque County as part of the 1968 FM Road Program. District Engineer Elton B. Evans designates T. H. Ralph as senior resident engineer at Clifton. The program adds 545 miles, totaling about 34,500 miles for the FM RM system.
