Law firm to collect delinquent Clifton school taxes
An Austin firm McCreary and Huey will seek more than $28 000 in delinquent CISD taxes under a two year contract approved by the Clifton Independent School District Board of Trustees. The 15 percent fee is based on total collected. 1975 taxes dominate the sum with most paid by July 12. 1975 taxes not paid by January 31 incur interest. Other actions include parking space additions, bread and milk contracts, roof repairs, and a video tape equipment proposal, all awaiting bids or board action.

Chemical Lime to Expand Clifton Quicklime Output
Chemical Lime Inc will raise Clifton plant production from 450 to 750 tons per day. Installation starts August 1 for a project set to go onstream next June at the 100 by 340 foot Allis Chalmers rotary kiln site. The expansion includes auxiliary plants and will boost market capacity for steel, water and waste treatment. The project creates jobs in transport and production and marks the company’s first major expansion since May 1971.

CHS 25 Calls All Classes to September Reunion
Clifton High School Class of 1925 invites members of other CHS classes to join a reunion in Clifton on Saturday September 18. Refreshments start at 9 30 a m and continue until departure with photographer Don White aboard at 2 p m to capture class group photos in black and white and color.

Texas rebates sent to Clifton and Bosque County towns
Clifton received a 1 023 18 check as July rebate of the one cent sales tax. Bosque County’s Me ridian got 573 47. State Comptroller Bob Bullock’s Austin office mailed 13 4 million in rebates to 535 cities and towns. The report notes Texas first quarter 1976 gross retail sales at 30 6 billion from out-of-state firms, with Bosque County reporting 12 916 893 in gross sales and 6 985 831 taxable.

DAV helps firefighters locate homes of disabled residents
Lake Whitney Chapter 215 of the Disabled American Veterans teams with local fire departments to mark homes with bedridden or incapacitated residents using red reflector buttons. The reflectors are donated and placed at no cost to households to guide firefighting teams in saving lives and evacuating occupants.
