The Willing Workers Class of Lake Whitney Baptist Church held a July 13 meeting at 2 p.m. at the Kelley home on Channel Cat Road. Mrs. Travis Kelley chaired. Mrs. Earl Thomas gave a devotional on Judas and his letter. Minutes were read, treasurer’s report approved. Ten members and two guests attended.
The Coon Creek Good Neighbor Club met July 15 at 2 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Turner Greenwade with hostesses Turner Greenwade and Dena Jolly serving cake, mints, nuts, sandwiches, and drinks to members and guests. Guests included Stephanie Byer of Fort Worth and Mrs. Marjorie Olson of Norse, with Olive Bache of Spokane, Washington, relation to Mrs. Jolly. A short business session prompted ideas for needlework.
Recent visitors to Clifton included the Hunter and Mostella families from Corpus Christi. the Hutchersons from Meridian. the Jones family of Morgan and Dallas. and the Hart cousins returning from Spain. Several guests traveled to Houston for a football game while Linthicum relatives hosted Arizona visitors. Hospital stays noted include H H Lucy Smith and Abby Gaines at Whitney Hospital. Community notices mention American Association of Retired Persons blanks and upcoming Bluebonnet Art Craft Club and West Shore Civic Improvement Association meetings.
Dr and Mrs Ernest J Erickson announce the birth of Lisa Machelle on June 15 1971. Paternal grandparents Mr and Mrs John Erickson Clifton and maternal grandparents Mr and Mrs B G Mackie Waco.
